The highlight of our meetings was the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) in Salt Lake City, in October. AAPS is a huge meeting, there were 995 posters. We submitted 7 posters (first authors Jiahui Li 3x, Shanuo Li 2x, Hasan Al Faruque, Isaac Kendell); 4 received Best Abstract Award (~10% of abstracts were selected; Jiahui, Shannuo 2x, and Hasan), 2 received Best Poster Award (3 awards total were selected; Jiahui and Shannuo). Another poster was selected for a special session (Jiahui). Jiahui and Shannuo were selected for Rapid Fire oral presentations. Interestingly, there were 3 Best Poster Awardees from 995 posters submitted – two from our lab and the mentor of the third awardee is a student of Dr. Kopeček’s student.
